Blueberry Cheesecake Smoothie

Oh hey, it’s another smoothie recipe. I love cheesecake… or anything smothered in Laughing Cow Smooth Sensations cream cheese for that matter. I always keep the cheese wedges on hand for a perfectly portioned treat. Lately, I’ve been throwing them into my shakes for an extra creamy and flavorful punch.

Golden Trail Mix

Trail mix is one of my favorite snacks… especially when it has M&Ms or chocolate chips in it. I usually only eat those as a treat. I was pretty ecstatic when I found individually packaged trail mix at a very reasonable cost. I must have bought 6 boxes before I looked past the calories on the nutritional information. It was rather high in sodium and had added sugar.

Skinny Sometimes’ Green Juice

It took me several weeks to figure out a green juice I could enjoy that had more vegetables than fruit. When I first started juicing I used mostly fruit. Let me tell you, it was delicious. I knew that to get the full benefits of juicing, it needed to be “green” juice, meaning mostly vegetables.
My very first week I used carrots, parsley, kale and apples.

Personal Spinach & Feta Frittata

Gradually getting used to my morning workouts has drastically changed my morning meals. Before I exercised in the morning, I would get up, get dressed, head downstairs, make and drink green juice and head to work. As soon as I would get into the office I would eat banana bread oatmeal. I was able to stick to this routine 2 days into exercising in the morning.

Banana Bread Oatmeal

I love bananas. Probably because they have such a high sugar content compared to other fruits, and I think they are starchy. I love a good starch. I love them most when they have brown spots. I’ve never met anyone else who prefers brown spots on their bananas, but they are the sweetest then. I will rarely eat a yellow banana and I will certainly never eat a green banana (shiver).

McCormick Gourmet Recipe & Seasoning Mixes

I first discovered McCormick Gourmet Recipe & Seasoning Mixes on a Sunday morning while doing my weekly grocery shopping. I always make dinner for Mr. Fitness on Sunday evenings. It is the only time during the week we sit down and have dinner together. Initially, I had wrote down ingredients for a much more complicated recipe that I had never tried before.

Sweet Potato Pancakes

Mr. Fitness requests these pancakes every weekend. I don’t always make them, I like to change it up and he is a late sleeper. By the time he is ready to eat breakfast I’m usually running errands or meeting Amanda at the gym. He also likes to request them late Friday or Saturday night when I don’t have what I need in the house.

Peaches & Cream Oatmeal

You know those people who say, “I don’t eat breakfast, I’m just not hungry in the morning?” Well, that’s not me. In fact, I eat 2 breakfasts every day. I start with a protein shake, like my Skinny Vanilla Chai Protein Latte and eat oatmeal about an hour or two after I arrive at work… then I have two small snacks before lunch.

Tropical Key Lime Pie Protein Mocktail

I always say a protein shake should be enjoyed like everything else we eat and drink. Too many people just chug it. There are many ways to make a shake delicious in very little time, so there are no excuses! Designer Whey has a fun contest going on right now where anyone can submit a shake recipe as long as it is the color of the week. Last week’s color was green.

Pumpkin Pecan Butter

After reading “Food In Jars” and trying out the maple almond butter recipe, I became pretty inspired to create my own. I still can’t believe how easy it is to make your own nut butter. In fact, for a few days I couldn’t stop thinking about homemade nut butters. And so, this Pumpkin Pecan Butter was born.
